"First-Year Fest made me part of a community before I even attended my first class " - Jonah Klapholz

Prospective Students

Want to know more about Jewish life at Cornell? We'd love to get to know you and show you around! Here for Shabbat? Dinner is on us!

Admitted Students

First-Year Fest

First-Year Fest is an opportunity for students to get a jump start on their college experience by meeting other Jewish first-years and connecting with upper-level students who can show them the ropes through this overnight experience. This pre-orientation program allows students to move into their residence halls a day early, on Thursday August 20th, before we travel together to the nearby Hoffman Challenge Course.  After the ropes course, games, s'mores, and a night under the stars, students will be ready to begin their Cornell careers with a great group of friends.

We are monitoring the developments regarding Covid-19 closely, we hope to open registration for our pre-orientation program in the coming weeks. Please check back around June 15.

The Shabbat Experience Dinner

After First Year Fest we welcome students and their families to join us for a special Shabbat Experience on North Campus, Friday August 21st. The Shabbat Experience is a great opportunity to acclimate both students and their families to the Cornell Hillel community. Sample a taste of our weekly Shabbat dinners with a delicious kosher meal. Check back in Spring 2020 for more details.
